Saint Martin Fete de la Cuisine: a festival of world famous food

Each first week in November, the island of Saint Martin welcomes renowned Michelin chefs from across the world to spice up the already flavorful foods of the Caribbean.  This year, four award winning and acclaimed gastro chefs from France, Holland and Belgium, will partake in the Saint Martin’s Fete de la Cuisine, giving all visitors a taste of modern food utopia. Locals are even encouraged to show off their own culinary talent by entering the Guava Berry, Potato Pudding and creative art contests.

Founded in 2005, Fete de la Cuisine gives Michelin chefs the opportunity to sprinkle their knowledge of flavors and technique on foreign cuisine. Foodies recognize the Michelin name as the dominant star rating system that determines a restaurant and chef’s culinary status with a three-star rating system.  Others recognize the name as the tire manufacturing corporation, which is where the travel and food guide originated.

Chefs spend time behind the line in local restaurants for an entire week, adding diversity to popular menus and creating revolutionary concepts for many Saint Martin restaurants. With 400 restaurants all contributing to the Saint Martin title of “Gourmet Capital of the Caribbean” the savory and spirited courses served are …

Festiva’s Top Architectural Towns

Many Festiva destinations are rich in historic tradition and culture creating a one of a kind vacation experience for our members. The ambiance reflected through the early design and architecture of certain cities can easily take you to a place passed in time with a simple stroll down the street.  If you’re looking for a location where early engineering can be found on every corner, here are our top must see cities of can’t miss architecture.

St. Augustine
Hailing as the oldest founding city in America, St. Augustine is a Mecca of antique architecture. Cobblestone streets line this historic town all the way to the coast, where the City Gates and the Castillo de San Marcos erected by Spanish empire in the mid-1500s still stand. The most notable site in the Old City is the 16th century González-Alvarez House or The Oldest House. The home was first occupied by Spanish descendants of explorative captains and then taken by British rule. On the grounds touring travelers will find gardens, the Manucy Museum and the Page L. Edwards Gallery displaying early settlement architecture. Here lies the United States’ oldest artifacts, pre-dating Plymouth landing and Jamestown’s foundation.

Tips to Adventure Club Availability

Securing a reservation can be difficult when availability is limited. Knowing when to begin your reservation process and the demand of your location can mean the difference in making your vacation dreams come true and changing travel plans altogether. Here are some tips on trends that will tell you when to begin securing reservations and also how to monitor availability for your future vacations.

When to Reserve in Advance

High demand seasons are specific increments of the year when more than 70% of the population is interested in traveling; therefore any reservation made during these times should be done so at least 4 months in advance. These demand seasons can also vary based on location. For example, the Caribbean and Bahamas experience their highest demand during the winter months, usually November through March. This is when vacationers are looking to escape the cold of their hometowns. With a majority of members looking to travel to the same destination at the same time, entire resorts can become filled within a matter of weeks. The same is true for oceanfront locations during the summer seasons beginning in May and lasting through September. High demand seasons also include holidays and school breaks when …
